Dr. Eyasu Wada Wachamo

Dr. Eyasu Wada Wachamo is Assistant Professor and Researcher at the Biology Department, Wolaita Sodo University, Ethiopia. He received Bachelor Degree in Biology from Jimma University in July 2005, Master’s Degree in Applied Genetics from Addis Ababa University in 2010, and PhD in Applied Genetics from Addis Ababa University in July 2018. During his PhD study work on Ethiopian Xanthosoma sagittifolium, he employed several techniques providing an original contribution to knowledge in production and nutrient contents, unique genetic resources based on DNA analysis for usage and improvement of the crop. During the research period, he has the unique experience of having worked with professors in USA at University of California, Davis and Justus Liebig University, Giessen, Germany. After obtaining his doctoral degree, he has associated himself with several researches besides academic tasks including teaching, advising postgraduate students and administrative responsibilities. His current interest focuses on morphological and molecular studies, nutrient analysis, in vitro propagation, ethnobotany and evolution of neglected and underutilized food and medicinal plants. As a researcher, he considers these wild realms as being complementary and examines them within an integrated framework in an effort to address the dynamics in relation to these issues. Dr. Eyasu, is a young scientist with different capacities: teaching students, author and reviewer. He published his research outputs in number of journals such as Genetic Resources and Crop Evolution, PLoS One, International Journal of Food Science, Plant Tissue Culture and Biotechnology and African Journal of Food, Agriculture, Nutrition and Development (AJFAND).

Simeon Oluwatoyin Ayoola

Professor Simeon Oluwatoyin Ayoola is a Professor of Aquaculture and Aquatic Ecotoxicology in the Department of Marine Sciences, University of Lagos, Lagos State. Formerly with Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Nasarawa State, Nigeria as a lecturer before moving his service to University of Lagos, Akoka, Nigeria in 2008. He is an alumnus of the famous and premier University of Ibadan, Nigeria where he obtained his B. Sc, M.Sc and PhD, respectively. He has wide experience in production, teaching and administrative positions over the years. Prof. Ayoola has developed a distinguished career in teaching, research and supervision of Undergraduate, Masters and PhD students in University of Lagos and other Universities in the country. He is a consultant in Aquaculture and Pollution Management. He is a recipient of many scholarships, grants, professional distinctions and awards.
Prof. Ayoola has published in both local and international journals. He has had the opportunity to present his research findings in both local and international conferences where he had a chance to interact with other scholars in the same or other professions. Prof .Ayoola has co-authored several research publications in peer reviewed journals some of which he serves as a reviewer. He is an internal and external examiner in a number of universities.
Apart from teaching, Prof. Ayoola has been involved in the review and development of undergraduate and post graduate programs in University of Lagos. He has contributed chapters in books, manuals and has published books. He has served in many administrative capacities in his University and he is a former Head of Department of Marine Sciences, and member of University of Lagos senate.
Prof. Simeon O. Ayoola is the pioneer member of Association of Nigerian Fisheries Scientists (ANIFS). He is also a pioneer member and board member of Bethel Values Foundation.
He is a member of Fisheries Society of Nigeria (FISON), World Aquaculture Society (WAS), Society of Toxicology (SOT), and Association of Nigerian Fisheries Scientists (ANIFS).
Prof. Ayoola has developed a distinguished professional experience in providing technical and advisory services to governments, NGOS, inter-government and Development programs in Africa. He is a dedicated reviewer of AJFAND.
