We are now ready to release issue 47, consisting of 12 full papers and two short communications all of them peer reviewed. We have also featured a book review and 4 profiles of scientists who have dedicated part of their valuable time to support AJFAND.

We have also a link to the web page created for the late Prof Wangari Maathai, and another link to my personal tribute honoring the late Chris Dowswell. The picture of flamingoes is to send warm greetings of peace and appreciation to each one of my friends who eased my grief through messages of encouragement. I value each one of you. Some of these messages are carried on these web pages.
