FOREWORD

Here we are again, with another issue, Issue 36.

At this time, matters of food safety are engaging many of us anti-hunger advocates.

It does not make sense to urge more production without addressing postharvest handling and value addition concerns. I wish to remind everyone of the IUFoST congress that is due to take place in Capetown South Africa from August 22 to 26, 2010. For the African food science professionals, capacity building in food safety is a priority. Then there is the ANEC conference which we have been announcing through these pages and this one is gearing up for Nairobi, Kenya in October 2010, 3rd to 8th. You are all welcome. You can even enjoy earlier or stay on to enjoy Kenya's world renown touristic and scenic beauty.

Issue 36 of AJFAND has another set of very interesting articles. Once again, please, just let us know if you would like to be a reviewer for AJFAND. We applaud the many reviewers from across the world who volunteer their precious time for the journal; be blessed.

Enjoy it.

Ruth Oniang’o, Editor-in-Chief
