Issue 26 of AJFAND is here. In it, you will find a commentary by Dr. Professor Macharia Waruingi, a US-based Kenyan writing on mHealth, as a way of getting healthcare to all, especially to the resource-poor in remote areas of Africa. We have a variety of articles that you will find interesting.
We continue to carry the call from Professor Gordon Robertson for chapter contribution to an online book on food safety, and the announcement of the IUNS congress in Bangkok, 5th -9th October 2009. I wish to inform also through this Foreword of AJFAND issue 26 that Kenya won the bid to host the 2010 ANEC (African Nutritional Epidemiological Conference) from October 4th – 8th in Nairobi. Please mark this in your calendar and watch out for more information. We wish to welcome you to Nairobi then for what promises to be a truly exciting event.
“Eating healthy” will bring you some facts about diabetes, a disease that is closely linked to diet both in terms of causality and management. We would like to extend great thanks to all our reviewers and welcome the new ones; and to those who have come forward to discuss collaboration with a view to assisting AJFAND financially, we appreciate your thoughtfulness.
In this issue, we have the following articles:
