I am happy to release issue 18 of AJFAND. I hope the year 2008 is going well for each one of you and that you will find yourself in a mood to write even more passionately this year. The quality of the manuscripts continues to improve, thanks to our diligent authors.

Let me once again thank our reviewers for great support in 2007. We know we can rely on their dedication and further commitment in 2008. We in Kenya wish to thank you all for your prayers and good will. What happened to our country just was not necessary. I hope it is never repeated, at least for the sake of the lives that were lost. More importantly, I hope we have come out of this with something, something that will see us emerge a new and more tolerant and accepting of each other.
