Journal of Food and Agriculture, Nutrition and Development
Dear
Editor,
Just
read your on-line copy of AJFAND.
I
was glad to learn of the efforts you have made through the journal
to present a multiplicity of issues from a single front. In my humble
submission, the underlying factors of underdevelopment on the African
continent are traditionally looked at in isolation without any appreciation
of the inherent complex inter-relationship that characterizes them.
I
must say that no meaningful development on the continent shall be
achieved if the fundamental myriad causes of underdevelopment such
as health, nutrition, conflicts, literacy levels, sanitation, among
others are not addressed from a multi-sectoral /professional perspective.
This
can only be achieved through the mobilization of resources, significantly
professionals from various fields .This calls for a forum in which
the above- mentioned can be addressed.
The
resultant consolidation of ideas, approaches, and perceptions will
definitely provide long term solutions to the chronic problem of
underdevelopment in Africa. Home Economists through your distinguished
journal have quite a role to play here along side other professionals
Thank
you.
Martin.
