18th International Congress of Nutrition. "Nutrition Safari for Innovative Solutions". The aim is to bring nutrition role players from all over the world to Africa in order to explore, exchange and integrate knowledge about nutrition to generate new insights and to define innovative solutions for global nutrition problems. We want to fit and align the circle of solutions into the triangle of nutrition problems! These interactions should and will contribute to an increased political awareness of the human right to be food and nutrition secure. It will also emphasize the importance of nutrition for human development, health and well-being, equity, and a quality of life for all.

The 1st Conference on Polyphenols and Health was held in Vichy, France 2003, and the goal of the second conference is to build on the successes of the first by highlighting the most important areas of recent success as well as exploring those topics that appear to be the most interesting for the future. The themes of the meeting will include the following:

* Basic aspects of polyphenol action in biological systems
* Polyphenols in cardiovascular disease and cancer
* Polyphenols in neurodegeneration
* Polyphenol metabolism
* Food composition and polyphenol effects on health
* New aspects of polyphenol physiology: nutragenomics and metabolomics

This conference will appeal to scientists from around the globe who are working in the area as well as many others who have an interest in joining the field. In addition, companies who have an interest or are considering an effort in polyphenols will want to know about the latest developments in the field. The organizers are willing to provide financial help to encourage the participation of scientists in the early stage of their careers, as well as scientists based in countries where the sciences are under-supported. 3rd Int’l Congress on Developmental Origins of Health and Disease
Developmental Origins Of Health And Disease, also known as Fetal Origins of Adult Disease, addresses how nutrition and other factors at the earliest stages of development influence lifelong health outcomes, e.g, obesity, diabetes, heart and lung disease, mental health, and cancers. The 3rd Congress is devoted to sharing the latest information from around
the world and promoting interdisciplinary research.

Who Should Attend?

The 3rd International Congress on DOHaD will be the prime international gathering for all interested in the field. Major scientific disciplines of attendees will include the following:

Clinical Disciplines

1. Primary: Obstetrics and gynecology, pediatrics, internal medicine, psychiatry
2. Subspecialty: Endocrinology (including diabetes, osteoporosis), nephrology, cardiology,
oncology, neurology, neonatology

Research Disciplines

1. Basic: Genetics, molecular and cell biology, developmental and, perinatal and adult
physiology
2. Clinical: Human nutrition, clinical trials
3. Population and Policy: Epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, public policy
