STUDENT
SECTION FOREWORD
Welcome, once again, to the students' section of
AJFAND.
Truly, we have undergone tremendous growth and development;
as evidenced by the quality and diversity of the articles
as well as their authors. We wish to thank all those who
have so far heeded the call to write in this section of
the journal. Although young Kenyan professionals continue
to set the pace, we are pleased, in this issue, to feature
young professionals from as far as Botswana.
Our aim remains to nurture young professional
authorship in the areas of Food, Agriculture, Nutrition
and Development. In this regard, students are encouraged
to send in write-ups, of not more than two pages (inclusive
of references) for this section. We are particularly interested
in opinion pieces on some topics covered in the main body
of the journal, or any other aspects of interest. These write-ups will be checked for grammar,
style, as well as thought and analytical process. In addition,
these write-ups, too, will be subjected to peer review for
content. To facilitate this, students are encouraged to
go through the 'Information to Authors' provided at the
back of this journal, before submitting their articles.
Special attention should be paid to referencing requirements.
Having observed this, the young professionals will have
been truly empowered to take their rightful place, as tomorrow's
authors and leaders!
